Kalmbaugh Insurance Agency Supports Responsible Dog Ownership.
The joy of owning a dog comes with the responsibility for their well-being. That’s why the whole community joined in for the Ridge Runner’s Second Annual Dog Fest and Walk at Ridgewood Park! Hosted on June 22nd, this free, family-friendly event offered a variety of activities for dogs and their owners.
The festivities kicked off with a one-mile walk, which was a great way for all the pooches to get some exercise and socialize with their fellow canines.
Following the walk, entertainment continued with a dog trick competition that showcased the impressive talent of local dogs and a crowd-pleasing human/dog look-alike contest, where participants competed for the best matching duo.
In addition to scheduled events, the festival featured a range of local businesses and organizations including food trucks, pet supply stores, dog sitters, local groomers and more. Attendees were able to enjoy free nail trims for their pups, dog swimming pools to cool down in the heat, and the opportunity to connect with rescue groups from the region who were there to raise awareness about pet adoption.
This heartwarming event was created in 2023 by April Zobel, owner of In the Bag Massage. Sponsored by HRAA, Huber Ridge Area Association, Inc. which is an all-volunteer organization that promotes public improvements and safety within the community, and encourages social activities and unity among members of the public. Kerry, from Kalmbaugh Insurance Agency, volunteered her time and energy. Wendy Ellsworth also provided a generous donation of Chik-Fil-A to the event. All proceeds were donated to the Columbus Humane Society (CHA), a fantastic organization dedicated to animal welfare. The event’s success was undeniable, surpassing the previous year’s turnout and generating significant support for CHA.
